not retaining password

    Have a situation on Windows XP Pro using O.E. 6 where it is not retaining the password for the isp. Now I have read the article from Microsofts web site # q264672 and honestly the article seems a little drastic.

    On my test machine I have XP Pro and have no problems although my machine does not have sp1.

    Has anyone seen this and is there a easier fix ???

    If you talking about OE6 not holding the password to check mail. Have you looked at tools, accounts, server, and the check mairk "remember password ". You may try removing the account and re entering the info. IE6 has a built in repair feature(OE tied to IE) via the add/remove programs. If you're refering to the dialup password. This might be better posted in the XP forum.
