I have a 256mb DDR-PC2100 stick of ram, & now my system only recoginizes it as 128mb when I check it out in system properties. What's the problem?

    lost ram

Did you install the stick in slot 1? Sometimes removing & reseating the ram will clear the coating on some of the contacts either in the slot or on the stick itself, PRESS HARD on insertion til those clips snap close:)

    Hi,
Sounds like your Motherboard doesn't support this type or ammount of memory.
Check in the User's Guide that came with the M/B or computer.
it should tell you in specifications what type and the ammounts to use.

What do you see for RAM in My Computer, Properties? Be sure to refresh Sys Info.
