Does anyone have any experience with the NOD32/ESET Smart Security program? I have been running my desktop with NOD32 AV--Comodo FW & Sunbelt Counterspy. I recently purchased a new laptop and was considering installing the NOD32/ESET Smart Security System and was wondering if anyone is running it or has any experience with it.

Any comments please--pro or con on running the ESET program all in one or doing what I have been doing?

    Thank you,
    Paul

    Hi Paul.

While I have ESET installed on my Vista drive, I don't use it much if at all.

However, based on many comments by my fellow MS-MVPs, it comes highly recommended. I can't say I've seen any real negative comments about it.

Not exactly first hand but I thought worth a mention.

    Hi Paul

As a NOD32 user for some time I upgraded to the security suite when it was released mainly to take advantage of the Antispam module. I was using Comodo firewall at the time and now run the Eset firewall.

I have no issues with the suite at all - runs smoothly and transparently, the antispam module works well.

I also run Counterspy and have seen no conflicts. In addition I run SpywareBlaster, Ad-Aware 2007 (manual), Spybot (manual with immunisation), IESpyads and a custom Hosts file.

The proof of the pudding is in the eating - I have never had a computer compromised with a virus. trojan or other nasty using a number of av's (Norton - many moons ago & before I knew better :), CA and NOD32) - firewalls (Kerio, Sunbelt Kerio, CA , Comodo and Eset)

I think you would be well pleased with the Eset Security Suite.

    Thanks TeMerc & Pete C,

I talked to the ESET sales people and being that I had until July 2008 left on my subscription for the Nod 32 on my desktop he told me if I upgraded to the Smart Security he would extend my subscription to July 2009 and gave me a 2-user deal--all for $47.99. Desktop & laptop.

I also liked the idea that I can get through on the telephone to live AMERICAN Tech Support with just a short wait. I talked to them about what I had to remove before I installed the Smart Security and to me they seem real knowledgeable compared to other I have spoken too.

I too have AdAware & Spywareblaster on both computers. I have some subscription tome left on the desktop for the Counterspy and will see what is happening when renewal time comes.

Thank you both for your comments
