Hey, i have a similar problem as the l "imited or no connectivity one ", exept that they all seem to be able to still connect to the internet. In my case i cant, only using a cable, but when trying via wireless the limited or no conectivity ballon pops and i cant get a conexion. I tried those patches some people sugested but it was useless. I also tried unpluging every cable on my modem and my router but again nothing. I have a Dell laptop, Microsoft MN-700 base station, and a MN.720 wireless adapter. I have no idea what else to do, if someone coul please explain me what can i do in words i would understand i would really apreciate it. Thx!

To make sure I'm clear here, it sounds like you have some wired option for connecting to your broadband modem and when you do that, all is well. When you try via wireless (and to a router that connects to the modem?) things don't work.

Is that pretty much how it is?

If so, what sort of wired connection can you make? USB or other?

    again

ok let me explain it again, i have a laptop that i use on the first and second floor of my house, i have a wireless router for the first floor, but on the second floor it goes out of range, so i had to install a cable from the firt floor to the second one. So.... when im on the first floor i dont use the cable and i use the wireless adapter, but when im on my room, on the second floor i use the cable. But now i can conect with no problem when i use the cable (on teh second floor), but on the first floor i cant get acces to the internet. I know its not thw ireless adapter becaus im conected now at a friends place, so it must be my router, or mi configuration on th desktop that is on the first floor. Can you help me??

Well, that gives a slightly clearer picture of how you are set up. But still not quite enough for me to feel comfortable trying to troubleshoot it. Somebody else might be able to from what is posted but I need a bit more information to understand how you are set up.

    1. How do you connect to the internet - broadband or dial-up?
    2. What, exactly, connects to whatever it is you use to get to the internet?
    3. The cable from the first to the second floor - what, exactly, does it connect to at both ends?
    4. Do you have one PC or several of them at home?
    5. Any other details you think might help - including specific brands & model numbers of your devices.

    it goes like this

Ok this is the whole picture:

I have 2 computers here, one desktop on the first floor, and one laptop. I use a bradband conextion so i hace a decodificator right next to the desktop on the first floor. then a cable goes from this decodificator to the router (also next to the desktop on the first floor). Thats the cabke that gives internet to the router. This router also works as a hub, so i can conect more that one computer via cable. Then one cable goes from the router to the desktop, and another from the router to my room on the second floor. The desktop conects with no problem to the internet, and my laptop conects too, but only if im in my room and i conect via cable. But, when i go down to the first floor and i try to use my wireless adapter to conect my laptop to the internet, it doesnt work, and i get that "limited or no connectivity" message. So i can use the internet only via cable and not via wireless. Yesterday i was at a friends house and i could conect with no problem via wireless, so im guessing something must be wrong with my router, or some configuration i dont know how to perform. Before i installed SP2 i could conect with no problem via cable and via wireless, so maybe something is wrong with that. I´ve tried some of the solutions i´ve seen on the forum but none of them worked. Ok thats it, sorry for the long explanation, but this way you get tha whole picture and you can help me better. Thx
