    I need help
I have a dell xps 730 Bios revision :1.0.4. I have windows xp.
For the past three weeks ive had problems in windows with a loud crackling noise, then a screen freeze. I have to shut the computer down and restart in safe mode. Ive run virus and system tools-restore, and restarted, but boot was super slow.
Today I receive nothing but a black(dos) screen, "no boot device" a frozen keyboard, and no mouse. I have checked all plugs just in case though I am fearfull this is a symptom of a much larger problem. The message on screen tells me to strike F1 or F2 but alas without the keyboard or mouse i cant ...
Any help would be muchly appreciated...

Hi Kimmy and welcome to BBS, not sure about that crackling noise, is it coming from the speakers or the tower?

Having received the 'no boot device' error message, can you still get into safe mode?
