    All,

I just built my computer from the ground up. This includes an A8N32-SLI DELUX motherboard by ASUS... This motherboard has a built in sound card and I installed Vista on a clean hard drive... I have 1GB RAM and everything works GREAT! The only problem is that I have no sound... Is tells me that "No Audio Output Device Is Attached "... I am unable to install the drivers for the motherboard due to compatability issues with Vista. I went to the ASUS website and looked for a driver for the board and sound but came up empty handed... Is there anything I can do other than complaining to ASUS until they post a driver???

    Thanks!

A common complaint regarding motherboard sound devices. Assuming you have tried all options, I would suggest you look at one of the compatibility lists (there are several on the web) and, to save cash, buy a low end card. I am sure even the cheapest will outmatch an onboard sound device.

    Your system has
See if Realtek has Vista drivers.

Also watch what connectors you are connecting the speakers to. There are different setups for different configurations.

Have you been to the nVidia website to download the nForce chipset drivers for Vista?

    http://www.nvidia.com/object/nforce4_amd_winvista32_15.00.html

I run a similar board Asus A8N-SLI Premium and when beta testing Vista and later with Vista Ultimate in dual boot with XP had no sound problems in Vista.

BTW - dumped Vista for the moment.
