    When I started my Outlook Express 5.5 just now, it said no Internet connection was available and did I want to work offline. I clicked Retry and it downloaded 1 message and not the rest. I stopped the download and restarted it (the download, not OE) and it downloaded the rest of my messages.

    Before anyone says to check my connection; I have cable so as long as the modem's on, I do have a connection. Has anyone gotten this from OE before when they most certainly have had a connection?

    Shadowhawk;

    It is possible that this was just a glitch in Outlook Express or the mail server. Outlook Express is bundled with Internet Explorer, so the repair feature should fix any problems on your end.
    Go to start/run- tpye msinfo32-click ok, on the window that pops up go to tools and run IE repair,
    you can also access repair from control panel add and remove, when you click to remove IE a munu should pop up with repair as one of the options.

    :eek:

    I ended up doing a repair cuz I tried using the Upgrade Advisor for WinXP and that totally messed up my Hotmail settings. I haven't gotten that wack message again, but now OE likes to give me weird error messages right after I open it, like "The following tasks couldn't be completed... ", but the list is empty. Whatever, as long as I can send/receive email.
