When I click on File Explorer (taskbar icon) This PC opens but does not show any content within the window. If I hold Win and E keys, My Computer opens revealing all.

Any thoughts on why this is happening?

    Thanks

Hi cspgsl, I'm running W10 and if I open Explorer from the Taskbar, I click on This PC and the drive/s are shown.
Does that work in W8.1? Neil.

It should and did up until earlier last night. This is on a client machine and suddenly changed without reason.
My Win 10 file explorer taskbar icon works as you describe as well so I know of what you speak

It goes to this pic and then I watch as the address bar moves from left to right as the page tries to load the content. It never finishes loading

    well, this is embarrassing...

The problem was the flash drive that was plugged in. When it was removed, explorer, opened normally. I don't know what was on the drive so I cannot tell you why it was an issue.
    Thanks gentlemen
