Win XP runs fine but started giving me an error when adjusting the volume. The error comes up "There are no active mixer devices available. To install mixer devices, go to Control Panel...." an so on. It tells me to install new hardware and it just started. When the system reboots the problems goes away for about 10 min or so then comes back saying the same thing. I updated the drives for the SB Live card and still happens. I removed the card and re-installed and still happens. I pulled the SB live out of my box and enabled the on-board AC97 codec sound and installed the drives. Worked fine for about the first 10 min or so and the error came back. Its not really an error but a message saying there is no mixer. I have gone into the device manager and made sure its still there. i have gone to the Sopunds, speech and audio devices under control panel and everything is grey. I have tried everything from rolling back the drive to reinstall the hardware and still happens. I would rather not do a full install on XP to fix. Anything ring a bell? I NEED HELP. Thanks

The only suggestion I have would be to do a system restore (Start|Help and Support...) to a restore point just before you think the problem started. Remember you will need to reinstall any progs. you installed after this date though.

Restore would be the 2nd to last thing I try and I am no longer using the SBlive card, remember I pulled it thinking it could have a problem and am using the onboard card.
