Hello, My name is Aaron and I am new to the WindowsBBS site. I recently purchased an antique laptop, nearly free (IBM T30 2366-B1U). When I bought the archaic machine, the previous owner said that it was having an issue with overheating and shutting down. I immediately did the obvious and cleaned the years of dust out of it and pulled the CPU heat sink. To my surprise, someone had removed all of the thermal paste and re installed the heat sink without any. After application of thermal paste and re-assembly of the machine, I was surprised not tho have a fried CPU. Bonus! There was another problem and that was that the mini PCI internal WLAN card was fried. I was having troubles with another 802.11 card that I was given until I found this site. The "no-1802" patch info was a real fantastic find for me and I truly appreciate it! I probably wont be around here much, but wish to thank all of you who contribute to forums such as these.
