I still have AA 6.0 and would like to update. When I go to Lavasoft and one of their download sites, the version to download is AA SE Personal 1.02. Could you please explain further about this 1.03 build? After downloading 1.02, do I update to 1.03? Getting senile in my old age and these constant updates to everything make me nuts!

    Thanks for your time,

    Jeane

    Hi Jeane,
1.03 has to be downloaded and installed like 1.02 was. It's not a "ref file" type update. You don't have to bother with 1.02. You also have the option to stick with v6 for a little while longer, still being updated.

http://www.lavasoft.de/ here you'll see in the upper right corner the current build is 1.03 and clicking on it will lead you to a 2nd Lavasoft page with links to various mirror sites down towards the bottom of the page.

Hope they settle down, this is my third install in as many days.

    Regards - Charles

    Hi Charles...

    I know what you mean...

I had to go through a few more hoops to even get 1.02. I have Ad-Aware 6.0 Plus so as a paid subscriber I'm supposed to get a free upgrade to Ad-Aware SE Plus but I had to wait, according to the Lavasoft forum, a least 48 hrs before I would get my "Update" e-mail notification. Well 48 hrs -1/2 I posted a msg to say that I have not gotten my e-mail yet. At 48 hrs + 5 I finally got notification to get my upgrade.

Let me tell you there were quite a few PO'd paid subscribers. I myself was not mad just disappointed that the paid subscribers didn't get an e-mail notifiying us of how the "Upgrade" was going to be handled. Anyways I have my free upgrade and it is installed...I am happy once again... :D

I'm not sure what bugs but I know the Lavasoft Ad-Aware SE Plus forum is quite busy...Ad-Watch issues, Plug-in issues, 100% CPU issues, etc...

I myself have not had any probs with the 2 Ad-Aware SE Personal and the 1 Ad-Aware SE Plus installs.

I still never did get any e-mail notification yet on any of the builds. I would not have know about version 1.03 except I saw it in this post.

I've got a further complication, SE is running on two OSes and the install for D sees the installation on C and vice versa and that's what it wants to uninstall. Each copy installs in the right place though.

If they come out w/ yet another "fix ", I think I'm going to wait a bit.

    Regards - Charles

I'm assuming that those of us with the "free" version don't need to bother with this update since it appears to affect Ad-Watch. Correct?

    Hi James,

Unfortunately, any previous Build won't get ref file updates. So affected or not, have to install the new build.

The ref update will go thru the motions, but it doesn't take - I tried :)

    Regards - Charles

James, it appears that I'm wrong about that.

I have build 1.02 still installed on my other OS - tried a ref update and it DID update from SE1R2 10.08.2004 to SE1R3 12.08.2004.

I am certain that is what happened with build 1.01 - I think :)

    Regards - Charles
