    OS: windows 2K SP4.
one printer is connected with the PC thorough a local network. After booting the PC, only for about 5-10 minutes printer is connected. If for 5-10 mins printer is idle, i can not connect that printer thru PC. Packets in and out is OK. If i disable and then enable the network the packets in & out is very low. To connect the printer i need to restart the PC.
Anybody can suggest something to solve this problem without reformating the OS?

Windows 2000 does not have as hardy a networking system as xp
I would uninstall the tcip for the network card
    Reboot it will reinstall itself
Try that as a first step
