I have a friend who runs a small commercial printing business.
He prepares his work on a PC and then transfers it to a MAC for output.
The output device connected to the MAC is an Agfa Acuset Image Setter.
The software he uses to enable communication between the PC and the MAC is called PCMACLAN which is discontinued and will not run on anything later than Windows XP.
He would like to purchase a new PC with Windows 7, but the latter is incompatible with PCMACLAN.
He has informed me that the Acuset will not interface with a PC.

Can anyone offer any solutions. I am familiar with PCs but know little very about MACs

    Thanks Geoff

He doesn't need 3rd party file sharing software for MAC-Windows. MACs have native support for SMB (Samba).
Mac OS X: How to connect to Windows File Sharing (SMB)

MACs can detect any Windows computer connected to the local network. It appears right on the Finder’s sidebar. Just setup a shared directory on the Windows computer (XP) or for Windows 7 use the Public Folders for sharing files.
