Network - how many PCs do you have and how are you connecting them?

And please post the following done from the PC that connects to the cable modem - unless you use a router/switch and in that case, just pick a PC:

    start~run~cmd
    ipconfig /all > c:\ipconfig.txt
and copy the contents of the c:\ipconfig.txt file you created to a reply here. Note that you will not see any screen information since you've redirected the data to a file.

    ipconfig /all > c:\ipconfig.txt will work fine.

    Space after ipconfig
    Space after /all
    Space after >

The command you are running is a normal
    ipconfig /all

    > simply redirects the output away from the screen
c:\ipconfig.txt tells the ipconfig command where to send the output.

The server you set up is not accepting DNS queries. Want want to contact your ISP and get the appropriate DNS servers to resolve names to browse the Internet.

On a side note, here is an IP address you can ping to see if you are even getting out to the Internet at all.

Start-->Run--> cmd (or command if older versions of windows)

    ping 209.247.121.126

If it responds, most likely it is a DNS resolving issue.

    Vally - you have either
    - a loose cable
    - a bad cable
    - the wrong kind (crossover when you need regular or vice versa)
    - a bad port (causing the non-connection) at the point where the cable plugs in.

Your network card is not seeing a network or any sort of device.
