    Hi All
I just set up a new computer for my sister. She is using Juno as her IP. Normally at the bottom by the clock there is a icon looks like 2 little monitors that blink.
Now she has the icon's but there is an X on it and they don't blink and a message when you put the cruiser on it that says....
"Local area connection, A network cable is unplugged. "

When I click on properties it has this listed and check marks by them,
    "Client for MS networking "
"File and printer sharing for MS networks "
    "QoS Packet scheduler "
    "Internet protocol (TCP/IP) "

I would like to get these icons back to normal so if and when she gets kicked off the internet you can then tell by the X on the icons.

    Any suggestions?
    Thanks
    Geri

To show the 'two blinking monitors' icon when connected go to Control Panel > Network Connections and right click on the connection > properties and check 'Show icon in notification area when connected'.
Doesn't work that way - when you disconnect/lose the connection the blinking monitors icon disappears.

The dual monitor icon with the red X 'A network cable is unplugged' comes from the network card which is installed on virtually all computers these days. You should be able to get rid of this by disabling the network card in Device Manager.
