Am working on a system board Trinity I845 made by a company named Tyan. Web site Tyan.com product # s2090. Its a p4 socket pga478 1.5g I believe.

The fan that is in the system is a AVC # c7015b12m code name HotDog part number 117160 link here will show details - http://www.thermo-link.com/html/cpu_coolers.html

Unable to find the same fan from the links that AVC furnishes either because they no longer do business with AVC or they are out of stock. I would appreciate anyone looking at above specs. and telling me what fan I could use as a replacement.

I hate heatsinks and fans even though they are probably the simplest device in the system I always try to replace like with like but get confused when unable to find the same model. Always confused by the size, decibles they produce and will they fit.

Only part of the inside of a computer that always confuses me so any help would be greatly appreciate.

    Thanks a head of time.

I would think this one would work fine. Relatively quite too.

There are countless HSFs that would work on the socket you have. Alot of times it just depends on how much performance you demand and how much you want to pay...oh, and I forgot...how much noise you can tolerate. Thermaltake is pretty much the choice for those who are hard-core but, as I said, there are a ton of coolers out there that get the job done adequately.

Sometimes the best HSF is the one that goes on easily and is fairly quiet!
