I start the computer and all is ok. After awhile through windows explorer I try to get to the different drives, and all is ok.I am working and all of a sudden I try to the same thing, and it shows only the c drive. Can't access any other drive letter. It seems to continually hang and is working with the hourglass going and going and going. I finally go to task manager and end it. It says c drive not responding? What can be happening. I changed the MB, CPU, but still have the HDD's. I ran virus progs, spybot, add-aware. I reboot and it take awhile to boot up. Should I do a Defrag, or any other suggestions?

Its not a consistant thing but, it shouldn't be happening so much. Could a HDD be going?
    Any help will be appreciated.

    Drive maybe. Drive controller maybe.

Try from a cmd prompt chkdsk x: /r (where 'x' means do each of your drives). The system drive will require a reboot and will scan before windows loads. The others should work real time unless you have a pagefile or other essential system file located on the drive.
