I searched the forum...but could not find any postings.

I have a user (XP Pro) on a domain that keeps getting locked out of her pc. I have cleaned out the temp/temp internet/cookies, disconnected network drives and readded. And she has not changed her password. However, the lockouts keep happening. I'm quite certain some process is attempting to authenticate w/ invalid credentials..but cannot pinpoint.

Any suggestions for places to look..things to do?

    Thx.

    Locked out:confused:

She puts in her password and it simply never logs her in? If this is close, it's possible her profile is corrupt.

She logs in just fine. However, she'll step away for a while and when she tries to unlock her pc, it says she's locked out. Or, while she's working, and tries to access internet site(s), the proxy will not let her through do to a lockout.

    Just some option !!

1.) Clean the use profile if it is downloaded from some server.
2.) Uncheck the password protected option from the display dialog.

Because she is able to login.
So, this should not be the kerberos and clock sync issues.

Please try this to see if it is help !!

Check you event logs to see if there is a service trying to authenicate as the user. Also I guess for whatever reason somebody or some process might be trying to brute the account.

Check for a service running on any system in the domain that could be using her account as a service account.
If you are unable to find one, try recreating her account using a different name. This would ensure that no service is using her account as a service account using the wrong password and locking out the user.
