This has happened so many times over the past year or so. I click "Send" on Outlook Express 6 and get a window saying I need to insert the MS Picture It! CD (V6.0.829.0).
    I click "Cancel. "
Get Error 1706: No valid source could be found for MS Pic It. Windows installer cannot continue.
    Click OK.
    Back to first error message.
    Click Cancel.
    Back to 2nd error message.
    Click OK.
Go through this 3 or four times, and then: "The spell check on this document was halted. Send anyway?" Click Yes, and the e-mail goes.

I've tried uninstalling MS Picture It! and reinstalling several times. It works for a while, but then the problem reoccurs.

Anyone else ever have this problem? Any solutions?

In OE click tools>options>spelling and make sure the line that says always check spelling before sending is not checked. This may at least get rid of the error message for you. Why it would have anything to do with Picture It I have no idea unless Picture It has a spell check function of some type and that's where OE's getting it's spell checking from. OE by itself doesn't have a spell checker. It relies on other apps to supply the spell checker. Usually something like MS Works or Word. There's also spell checkers made specifically for OE available on the net.

Thank you, Zander for the suggestion about the spell check. I'll go ahead and uncheck it for now.
