MS Office rant

    Aggghhhh. I've been recovering data from an old Novell server and using a spare laptop to get the files off it. Why does MS Office always want to install new stuff, when all I've done is switch user! With a network install of Office and a laptop that's off THE network, it a pain in the behind to have go through a sequence of cancels to open an Office app to check the files.

    Rant over!

    Don't use the network install option?

    Or insert cd and let office get the files it needs...

    Steve,

    I know how to fix/avoid the problem. I was just having a rant because I have to fix a problem that I don't think should be there! I also put the threead in the general discussion section because it was a rant rather than a request for help.

    I was just letting off some steam because it was annoying me at the time.
