    per javacool....

    MRU-Blaster Update 4/12/2003 - improved!
MRU-Blaster Database Update 4/12/2003 released - approx. 23,845 MRU items in detection database.

This release also improves the whole program. Scanning speed should be faster, and MRU-Blaster should detect even more items! There is also more information on the Settings page of the program, in regard to specific items.

    Hi, Mark ~

Thanks for the notice & reminder. I have used MRUB for some time now and have wondered if they would update.

    hi bruce

you're very welcome. glad the updates are being read and put to use!

    yes, javacool's software is awesome.

do you also run SpywareBlaster ?

as much as i love Spybot and Ad-aware (and run them both), i have to figure that the fact that SpywareBlaster runs as memory resident is a *huge* plus.... it never lets the nasties latch on in the first place!

    :)

    Hi, Mark ~

No, I don't. The reason you like is is precisely the reason I don't. :p

LOL! goes to show you can't make everybody happy with one program!

if you don't mind, what is it about being mem res that you do not like?

It's vigilance is not worthy of encroaching precious RAM.

    good news, bruce...

i was wrong about SpywareBlaster being memory resident. because it prevents spyware from loading, i assumed that it had to be.

but a quick note to javacool on the subject produced this response...

i asked javacool if he would be kind enough to describe for me how SpywareBlaster works... how it prevents spyware from even loading in the first place, if it wasn't a memory resident application. here was what he had to say......
i know the thread started out as an MRU-Blaster topic, but evolved because the same author wrote both programs. i may put a link to these posts on a SpywareBlaster thread, just for future reference.

    MRU-Blaster Update 4/28/2003

MRU-Blaster Database and Program update 4/28/2003 has been released.

MRU-Blaster now targets approx. 24,100 MRU items!

Simply download the new installer and run it - it will take care of the updating process (make sure MRU-Blaster is not running, however).
