After being successful with the installation of the Quick Reply extention in TB1.5.0.2 (see that thread), I got greedy, installing the same extention in FF1.5.0.2. I have liked the Prefbar extention, for reasons of my own, and have a working v.3.0 in FF1.0.8. However that version was not compatible with FF1.5, while v.3.2.1 was partly compatible, not able to add links or whatever on the toolbar. I tried to install with the help of the Mr_tech extention.
The results showed that that extention can do just so much. v.3.0 gave me a band at the bottom of the page, showing that it was a no go. v.3.2.1 seemed to install ok, and it was, allegedly, updated, but it had a serious problem, not seen in 1.5, i.e. the Configuration page was blank, so not only no links could be added, but it could not change anything.
Mr_tech can do just so much, but I was an interesting experience.

    Westside ...

I don't think you can blame your PrefBar problems on MR Tech Local Install. I'm running eleven extensions with FF (including both PrefBar and MR Tech Local Install), and nine (including MR Tech Local Install) with Tbird.

In the year that I've been using Local Install I've successfully upgraded all of my extensions (some numerous times) using different releases of both FF and Tbird. I couldn't have done it nearly as easily (if at all) without Local Install.

FWIW, I'm currently using PrefBar 3.2.2 (3.3 is available) with FF 1.5.0.2, and it's fully functional.

    Jim,
I, almost, did not post because, as it happened, I felt that my information was going to be taken the wrong way. Is " Mr_tech can do just so much" blaming the extension.
I did not look for update to the Prefbar, but when I used the "addons" search for my extensions, and I typed "prefbar ", I got this: "There are currently no results. "
I will do some other search, but my gripe of 3.2.1 was that several buttons were inactive with FF1.5. Now, I got a total blank page. Far from blaming Mr_Tech, it tells me a lot which I would have not know about without it.
It would have been more useful to see a link to the extension, than a misinterpretation of what I meant.
Anyway: this mozdev link allows me the download of the .xpi file, and 3.3 works perfectly well with FF1.5.0.2. Thanks, Jim.
