    If I were to install and use Mozilla would I be able to keep IE without conflicts? Would Mozilla automatically associate itself to open with URL shortcuts and HTML files? Does Mozilla allow you to disable popup and popunder ads?

    You can have many versions of browsers. After installing it will ask if you want it to be the "default browser ". And yes it does great on pop-ups. I have IE, Netscape, Opera and Mozilla and they work nicely together.

    If I did make Mozilla my default browser would it make its email program the default email program as well. I use The Bat and don't want to use anything else ever again.

    Here's a site with a step-by-step guide under "HOW-TO" -Install Mozilla:
    http://mozilla.gunnars.net

    In Step 15 it says, when you get to the instal step that asks if you want to make Mozilla the default browser:
    ==============copy/paste==================
    Click on "Yes" if you want to make Mozilla your default browser. This means that Mozilla will be used to open internet shortcuts and HTML documents. Please note that Mozilla will also be made the default program for .jpg and .gif images. You might want to change that later on if you are using image editing software such as Adobe Photoshop.
    =============end c/p=====================

    When I Installed Mozilla I said NO, and Mozilla did not take over filetypes and protocols but worse case, if you do make Mozilla the default by mistake or whatever, you can undo the changes from within Mozilla's preferences by unchecking all the filetypes and protocols n the Advanced preferences, System section.

    I suggest a custom install. The only components besides the browser that I would suggest are Mail & Newsgroups -for those who WANT mail and newsgroups! - and the Personal Security Manager. Check the installation faqs on the above site for details.

    On the default mail and newsreader you set that when setting up a mail account. This is copied from Step & in the "How to.. Set up a Mail Account" guide from the same site:
    =============copy/paste==================
    f you want to make Mozilla Mail your default mail application, select "Yes ", otherwise "No ". This setting is system-wide, i.e. it will influence all other web browsers. Please note that Mozilla will use Mozilla Mail as its default mail application regardless of this setting (please see the "Using Mozilla" FAQ for instructions on how to change that).
    ==============end c/p ====================
    The "Using Mozilla" FAQs are here:
    http://mozilla.gunnars.net/mozfaq_use.html#faq_mail

    Lots more help on all of this can be found in the Netscape forum here, which covers both Netscape and Mozilla.

    YES

    In Mozilla 1.0.1 it's simply a box you UNcheck under Edit Preferences Advanced Scripts and Plugins.... "Open unrequested Windows ". Should be something similar in more recent versions.

    Not sure about Mozilla Firebird which is the new standalone Mozilla browser, no mail and newsgroups. Might be just the thing for you, if you don't mind beta software. Check out the release notes for both Mozilla 1.4 and Mozilla Firebird 0.6. Both are available here:

    The new Mozilla browser--MozillaFirebird just out recently doesn't have an e-mail client. You can install a stand alone one if you want to. I just installed the browser last night-really speedy. It doesn't interfere with my IE 6. It is really speedy--much speedier than Opera which I liked but I think I am going to like this better.

    I generally dislike beta software so I'll just stick with the regular Mozilla browser. I'm gonna test it out as my default browser and see how it gets along.

    is there a way to move folders around in the bookmarks? Whenever I click on one I want to move, it opens automatically and I can't move it. I could move stuff around at will in IE.

    Has anyone noticed any graphic conflicts between Mozilla and MSN Msg 6? The little popup boxes that alert me when my friends have signed on looked kinda funny last time I ran Mozilla and MSN Msg together. They had stripes on them.

    Any known issues between Mozilla and AIM?
