bought myself a new cordless mouse logitech to use on my laptop with usb connection.

After 15min mouse movements are very slow and difficult to control. The standart mousepad on the laptop does not give any troubles at all - only the cordless mouse. I even disabled the laptop mousepad, but same thing happened too.

When using the DSL the connection, Explorer stalls and system has to be rebooted to be able to work on the internet again.

Please note: the hdrive has been newly formated and the latest win2k is cleanly installed on system with newest driver. No old drivers or other *(&^% is on the system. Install of everything went fine without a hitch.

A usb mouse will typically slowdown if you are running some program that is using all of the CPU time. Are you?

rdzien you are absolutely correct, I noticed this when using the mouse in my Cad Programm when working on some complex renderings.

But when my slowing down with the mouse happened, no major programm was running. It even started when playing Solitaire and it did not go away.
I finally went to the Registry in w2000 and did a cleanup as I found some questionable entries even though w2000 was just newly installed.

After removing them, everything changed back to normal.
    Thank you for your hint.
