I installed windows xp on my old computer. It has a amd k6-2 running 350 mhz with 128 megs of pc133 ram and a 6 gig hd. Everything loaded fine except no mouse. the pointers there but the mouse wont move. I dont know all the key shortcuts but i looked in device manager and its not there. It worked with w98. The mouse uses a ps/2 to 9 pin adapter. Im lost. Thanks for any help.

I had this problem once with a client who insisted on using an old com port mouse with a new PC I had built for him
I supplied a new PS/2 type mouse and it solved the problem. You can get a mouse for little over £2.00
Its posibly due to the difference in internal wiring connections from your motherboard to the mouse through your adaptor
anyway if your mouse is that old that it requires an adaptor I suggest you invest a couple of pounds in a new mouse anyway. You'll be glad you did.
