Does anyone know of a web site or other method where one could enter desired attributes of a motherboard and have it do some kind of search?

I am in the market for a new mild desktop. My current one is 9 years old and is acting up some. I have been looking at many motherboards on various manufacturer's web sites and this way is exhausting, especially on my slow dial up connection. There are just too many options for us mild mannered folks to sort through. I am not a gamer so I don't need any zoom zoom capability and one monitor is just fine.

I am looking for the following:

    - ATX form
    - Dual Core Intel CPU
    - SATA controllers (at least 4; 6 preferable)
    - PATA (EIDE) Controller (one for 2 devices), I have almost new HDD & DVD drive. The IDE HDD would be used for backups.
    - connections for at least 2 front mounted USB ports
    - rear mounted USB ports, at least 6, more would be nice
    - DDR2 memory (4 GB max is acceptable)
    - parallel port (nice but not a deal killer; I have an old printer/scanner)
    - separate graphics card, not built-in, only one needed
    - audio, preferably built-in

Nothing fancy by today's standards. Something to use for maybe 8-10 years.

I intend to use my XP Pro (32 bit) OS for a couple more years at least and probably transition to Win7 after it matures some.

I would go to Newegg.com - start with ASUS boards...You should be able to get close in minutes through manual reading...

The PATA (EIDE) Controller will be the deal killer...But you can add on an PCI card if you really insist...4 to 6 SATA devices in theory should bemore then enough....But, if the PATA drive will be used for storage - get an external enclouser.

    Thanks, Steve.

I did find a search site: Click Here

I believe I have found the motherboard that I will buy. It is an Intel D975XBX2. It has more zoom than I need but you only live once. It has about everything I was looking for.
