When I connect, my modem will not stop making that shhhhhhhhhhhhhh noise. If I turn off the modem noise, it just turns it off at dial up. If anyone knows how I can fix it, please help. Thanks

    Hi
I take it that it doesn't get connected to the ISP modem, which sounds like it can't negociate a common speed etc. I'd try removing the modem from system devices and letting windows redetect it at start up. Load new drivers if there are some available.
