Okay, here's the deal. I took out a fried ASUS P4U-LA and put in an ASUS P4GE-MX into my HP 7955. I got it (pretty much) all hooked up and running. The problem that I'm having is that there are two USB ports on the front of the machine that have a plug on em that doesn't match up with the new MOBO. I've went thhrough the new MOBO manual and can't figure out where I can connect them to it. I have already taken the power and power LED plug apart and got them in the right place, so i know how to take it apart, just don't know where I'm supposed to plug them into the new MOBO. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

You have two options as shown on page 1-18 of the manual - either use the supplied (?) rear mounting module or connect the leads from the front USB ports to that header.

As you have an HP case the plug arrangement may be different and it may not be possible to connect up the front ports. Cases made by independent suppliers generally have those leads individually terminated in a single mini socket rather than a moulded multiple socket.

Would it be possible for me to take the plug off of the USB port cables and connect them individually?

While it's easy enough to take the plug off, replacing it with individual plugs is another matter entirely - I have no idea if these plugs are available.

My only suggestion - which you take up at your own risk - is to endeavour to split the existing plug into individual plugged cables.

Personally I would get hold of a hub or a USB extension cable and feed one or the other from a rear port.

Just got it all done. I had to move the power (red) over one slot and plug it in at an offset. But, the front panel USBs both work now and had to take apart the "xtra" speaker port on the back and plug those in individually. But, that's ok. It's done and it running like a stallion. Thanks for your help.
