Mirascan 4.03

    Hi
    I have an Acer scanner and it uses Mirascan software. The version that came with the scanner version 3.4 has developed the bad habit of adding random narrow black lines randomly to scans. I have been trying to install version 4.03 but when running setup I am asked if I want to remove the selected application and all of it's components.
    I am at a loss. Please help

    Are you sure it is not asking you to remove the old before installing the new.

    Quite a few applications do that.

    Hi Billybob
    I completly cleared both versions from my computer and downloaded a fresh version 4 from the Acer website and got the same result, I have just reinstalled ver 3 and I am still getting the black lines. I can send an email attachment to show the effect if you like

    Are you saying that version 4 won't load or that v.4 also gives random black lines??

    My guess is that it is more likely a fault with the scanner rather than with the scanning software.

    Hi
    I think I have solved the problem of the black lines. I was using Irfranview and when I changed graphics programs the problem went away. Now I can carry on using version 3+ so thanks for the help
