millennium to xp upgrade

    I know a bit behind.. Im trying to update a pc for a mate and i put xp over the top of millinium and it all went well until i tryed to reboot it and now it comes up as checking fat 32 files and then reboots and does this over and over the only reason i have done a clean install is becouse he has some emails on there he needs to keep cane anybody help please..

    mickws - Welcome to the Board :)

    Upgrades can be problematic as you have found and if Me is involved probably doubly so :(

    I think your best solution is to hitch the drive up as slave in another computer and copy the email files off (*.dbx) and then format the drive and make a clean install of XP.

    Are you sure that the computer specs are good enough for XP?

    i remeber when aunt got a Me machine.. (i am only 13, but im good at computer :D) it was a nightmare. it took forever to install, and even longer to connect to the internet. *shudders*
