I have a Microsoft wireless keyboard and mouse model 6000 v2.0. Lately as I type it seems to skip key strokes. Have to keep an eye on the screen and constantly go back to fill in missing characters. I get no low battery warning. Any suggestions?

Hello Fred, and welcome to the BBS. I have the same keyboard and mouse combo and usually when it starts to skip letters etc. it is time to change the battery. I have never seen any warning come up before it starts to skip. Batteries are cheap so can't hurt to try new ones. You could also check the location of the tx/rx unit in case the signal is being blocked by something.

Thanks John B. My low battery light never came on, so thought batteries were OK. However, I checked them. Reading 1.4 volts. Replaced them with new lithium's which read 1.8 volts. Haven't missed a character since. Always check the obvious first. Thanks for your help.

Hello Fred, glad to hear the solution was that simple. You should also check the batteries in the mouse. If the pointer starts moving in jerky motions, usually a sign of low battery power as well.
