Log in as an administrator (try logging in the default Administrator account).

    Mailman,
My updates are set to download automatically but not install until I tell them to. I like to know what I am installing on my computer, as a general rule, even if I don't always understand it.
I was unable to find a KB928367.log file in my WINDOWS folder.
I tried the manual download and install without having any different result.

    Arie,
We just have the one account (Owner) on our computer, which I understand is the same as an Administrator if it's the only account.

    Mailman,
I followed the link to the discussion group you provided. After reading the various comments and suggested procedures, I basically have given up on this. Many of the suggestions seemed very complex and I didn't want to chance messing up my computer, as one poster seemed to do. So, I just followed the insructions to ignore the update. Hopefully, Microsoft will correct the widespread problem with this update and send out an update to plug the vulnerability that will actually work for us, the public. I realize I may be naive in hoping for this.

Thanks to all for the help with this. I have been able over the past few years to resolve many problems with help from this forum, so I almost feel guilty giving up. But, I surrender!

Type control userpasswords2 in the RUN dialog box. Is the Owner account listed as being in the Administrators Group?
