    Hello all.

I use Microsoft Paint a lot in order to demonstrate dependencies and structure for grammar in sentences. However, when saving these images, or viewing them on an iPad, the quality is very poor, especially when zooming in. Is there a program that is similar to Microsoft Paint that will save in a very high resolution, or may be an option built in that I am just missing?

    Best wishes.

    Several factors involved here:

    1. Dimensions of the original images (width & height) = image resolution. An image that is 1024 x 768 has a higher resolution than an image that it 640 x 480. Start off with larger dimensions to begin with.

    2. Larger dimensioned images will require larger objects in the image, i.e. a line that was 2 pixels wide may now have to be 10 pixels wide, and text that was size 10 may now need to be size 18.

    3. Image formats: A .bmp or .jpg has more data in it than a .gif. Some formats are better than others, depending on the picture. Jpg or png are probably what you should be using.

    4. It's easy to take a high quality image and reduce its size and maintain the quality, but it's much harder to take a low quality image and increase its qualities.

Use a scalable font, create a large image and save it as a .BMP file.

For example, I created the following 3426x932 image using the "Arial Rounded MT Bold" font with a pixel size of "750" and saved it as "Adam.bmp ".

    Adam.bmp (9MB)

When you open it in IE, it should look good from 10% on up to 400% of its true size.
