This week, Microsoft (NSDQ: MSFT) confirmed that it would soon be releasing a free antivirus product that can run Windows versions all the way back to XP. That puts the company on target to deliver the product, code named Morro, that they announced last November to replace the paid OneCare product that meet its end this month.

Sales of Windows One Care end this month.
You should be looking for better product anyway.

The new beta software from MS is very good. Take a moment and Google it to see what others are saying about it. As soon as my own subscription runs out, it's the AV product we'll be going with.

It'll need a lot of testing, before it can replace established already AV programs.
You can't say, some AV program is good, or bad before it's run on number of different computers, on different Windows version, for prolonged period of time.

Paul Thurrott, a MS tester, has been using it for months. He's very high on it as are a number of other techies. His word is good enough for me. In case you are unfamiliar with Paul, here's a link to his review: http://www.winsupersite.com/win7/mse_beta.asp

I'm familiar with the name, but unfortunately one guy testing doesn't make any application golden.
    Surely, IMHO.
