I have an old old version of Mastercook II Version 2.8 Iy always ran on my XP (SP3) OS, but recently I purchased a new computer with Windows 7 installed. Mastercook will not run even with the compatability wizard. There are new versions available, but the old program contains some recepies we would like to keep. Does anyone know whether thet can be transferred to a new Mastercook program compatable with Windows 7?

    Welcome to WindowsBBS :)

To be honest your best bet is to contact Mastercook support - I'm very doubtful that anyone on the BBS has experience of this program.

One workaround is to install the software in a virtual machine running inside Windows 7.

If you have Windows 7 Pro or above you can use Windows XP mode - a free download from MS which includes a copy of XP Pro.

If not install Virtual PC 2007 - runs on Windows 7 and install a licensed copy of XP in it - and Mastercook.
