When I got a 19" crt for an extra monitor for my Gateway laptop 450 xphome v2002 last year using ie6, I could toggle the Monitor to be the primary display (#1). This was done by Control Panel>Display>Settings>Advanced>Monitor .... This brought up the gray popup with a picture on the bottom of a monitor a laptop and a TV screen. Then just press the in/out buttons to make the monitor or laptop be #1 or #2. Very simple.:D

Then last week I downloaded IE7 and now that screen is no longer to be found:confused: ... I just get a 'properties' on the last step and no way to toggle my desktop over to the monitor :(

Is anyone familiar with that popup I'm talking about? After the operation it used to 'identify' with the big white nr. Now I can't get the #1 over to the monitor....does this description make sense to anyone?

That panel is completely dependent on your display adapter driver.

Download a fresh driver from the manufacturer, and reinstall.

Use Device Management to identify your exact adapter.
