Major Help Needed

    Hello Everyone, I'm haveing some serious problems, I hope you can help. I built a computer and installed win98 It had a few problems but ran ok, but after a week or so it developed registry errors. So I decided to Upgrade to win200pro. Install went well and It started up and ran. So I went about upgrading the drivers and such. Well Now that I have everything upgraded It has problems. During games it likes to freeze and even on some occasions shut off. While browsing the web it shuts down Often. Around every 10 minutes, mostly when clicking on URLs. This problem is perplexing me. I hope you can help.

    Heres everything about the computer I can think of.
    Athlon 2000+
    Gigabyte GA-7VRXP MoBo
    VisionTek Geforce Ti 4200
    Samsung 512 megs pc2700
    Maxtor 40 gig HD
    Diamond Monster 300 Sound Card
    Direct x 8.1
    Newest Video card drivers
    Windows Drivers for SoundCard
    Newest IE

    Check that you have adequate cooling and blow out any dust.

    If it turns out to not be a heat problem (and it very well could be), check your event logs and see if there are any significant errors.

    Any you aren't sure of can easily be checked at the M$ online help site or you can post em here.

    Also, whatever caused the Win98 registry errors could still be biting you. Probably hardware problems of some sort since you had trouble on two totally different operating systems and it sounds like things are getting worse.
