Hi, i have a few pop3 email boxes i use to retrieve and send email in Outlook Express Version 6, my operating system is fully patched  as far as windows is concerned.

Anyway, mail rules.. they dont work.

Ive set up three different mail rules, so hopefully my email will get sorted into folders, allowing me to file emails for later reference and to work out who's who etc..

What ive setup are as follows:

    1st is for IRC network

Apply this rule after the message arrives
Where the To line contains '*@rizon.net'
Move it to the Rizon folder

2nd is for my Servers status information

Apply this rule after the message arrives
Where the From line contains '@interland.com'
Move it to the Interland folder

3rd is for server to send me information on Resellers.

Apply this rule after the message arrives
Where the message body contains 'Notification of the domain creation.'
Move it to the User Creation folder

I apply them, relaunch OE send some test emails from different accounts, but all emails get directed back to inbox, have i missed something?!

    Thanks

Open your rules again, and take alook if you don't have "and" applied to all rules. So in order for the rules to work, the email has to fulfill all rules. If you see the "and" underlined, click on it, and you should be able to change it to "or ".

Those rules i pasted above are all seperate, not in the same rules path.

Each rule, is only looking for one spercific rule, i.e. if the email comes from @rizon.net email address, it will shove it in the Rizon Folder.

Second rule, if it comes from a @interland.com email address, shove it in the Interland folder

3rd, if the headers contain 'notication of..' shove in the Resellers folder.

Seperate Rules, there not looking for each rule path

Open your rules again. Highlight rule 1, click modify. In the "select actions ", scroll down, put a checkmark in "stop processing more rules ". Do this for each rule. But I am not sure if OE recognizes "wildcards ". Found this info here..

    Argh!

Stumpled upon what i think is a bug/error/kinda OE being gay.

I had it set to from line is rizon.net - but i relised that everyone on that account is in my address book, so when it gets it, it doesnt have @rizon in the from line, it has there name.

So i changed it to @rizon in the headers and from line.

    thanks aleekat :)
