    Hi all.

I want to use a group policy defined at the Organizational unit to set proxy settings for machines within that unit. Users for the machines I want to control are members of a different OU that inherits Default Domain Policy only. I have found and set the "Make proxy settings per machine" setting and have verified that this is being applied to client pcs by doing a gpresult /m /v. The strange thing is that the actual proxy settings within the same GPO are not being applied.

If I do gpresult /u it does not list the name of the policy I have defined the proxy settings in. What am I missing here? Also, if I use secedit to force a refresh of machine policy I get an entry in the application log of event viewer, but if I do the same for user policy I get no indication that it has
    taken place. Why is this?

    Many thanks.

    John.

I have created a similar policy on my domains in my lab, and it works fine. Within the GPO set the following:
User configuration | Windows Settings | Internet Explorer Maintence | connection | proxy setting
