loud beeping noise

    I have Win 98 and when I am using my computer on or off the internet a loud anoying beeping sound comes from my cpu. sometimes lasing up to two minutes. I replaced my modem thinking this was the problem but it wasn't. Please any help would be appreciated. thank you and have a blessed day.

    That beeping is coming from your motherboard, telling you something is seriously wrong, especially when it is running, and not starting up. The first thing that comes to mind is overheating due to lack of air circulation. Use a can of air to blow out dust bunnies from air vents, heat sinks, and fans. Do not let the fans spin due to the blast of air, use something non static to hold them still.
