lost volume control

    sound and multi properties : show volume con on sys tray is grayed out.
    status: driver enabled but inactive due to an unknown problem. :confused:

    One of your sound cards drivers are corrupt. Reinstall them.
    Do not know what you have? Get Everest Home Edition, it will identify it.

    Thanks for the info on everhome, nice prog for info and printout. I have run driver magic, pcrescue, and fix-it. Card is ess allegro (es198x.sys) but it passes the sound test and I have re-loaded drivers several times. Believe volume control was muted when it got lost and I cant get it open from the win pro files.
