lost mail

    A friend of mine's PC was going through defrag and locked up. It was restarted and lo and behold all of the email stored on there has disappeared.

    I ran Norton Utilities (the only thing I had available) and according to all of its tests, all is well. File recover did not find anything missing.

    My feeling is that all of that is gone but anyone with an idea, let me know.

    I don't know why running defrag would effect mail messages, but I suppose stranger things have happened.

    Check to make sure that the messages aren't simply hidden. To do this open Outlook Express, click on the view tab, and make sure that "Show All Messages" is checked.

    If that doesn't correct the problem, what version of Windows and IE is being used?
