On entering Netscape 7.02 this evening, I've had a terrible discovery. My Netscape mail accounts are gone. I've tried comparing what I see on my drive to my last backup and see no differences, although I may be looking at the wrong places.

I am running on XP Pro.

IM also did not remember my password as it normally has. Logging on manually appears to show my buddies and is problably okay.

Other items: My Password Manager is empty.
My address book seemsa to be okay.
My cookies seems to be okay.

I recreated on of my accounts and was able to download from my ISP. However, the stuff on my hard drive - accounts, subdirectories - don't display.

    Thoughts?

    Hi Cal,

That's very frustrating isn't it? It hasn't happened to me, but other users are having the same problem. Take a look at the workarounds for:
Lost Profile "¢â€¢ Mail & Newsgroups Account Settings "¢â€¢ Windows XP

You might find the key to your problem there, and hopefully a fix. If not, please post back.

Once you have a healthy Netscape running, backup your Profiles Folder. If you should lose your preferences again, you can try replacing your prefs.js file from the "good" backup. This works for many XP users.

    Ramona :D
