I have a gallery inconnection to my web page under domain www.richardshouse.net.

I had a spam attack a couple of weeks ago which I have resolved and taken action to prevent a repeat.

However, I find now that each time I wish to log on to my gallery I must reset the password.

Below is a Hijack Thjis log and I would appreciate some of you folks who are so muich smarter than I to look at it and see if you see anything that might be causing the problem.

I'll dig a little deeper and let you know what, if anything, I come up with.

To better describe the problem for others.........

When viewing the Gallery, there is a login icon on the page that allows for adding, removing, editing, etc. items in the Gallery. Clicking the icon opens a popup to enter the username and password. The username and password entered, if correct, are accepted yet they do not actually log you in. The login dialog also gives RickyD2 the option to request and/or reset the password. He can login once after using the request/reset option.

Look closely at the following item from that FAQ

The link to your Gallery does not go to http://www.richardshouse.net/gallery/ but to http://richardshouse.net/gallery/
While in the Gallery, add the www to the address and click Go, then try login again.

    I noticed another inconsistency, which may or may not amount to anything at all. If while inside any album, such as;

    http://www.richardshouse.net/gallery/New-York-Trip

if I then click the link at the page bottom labled Richards House Gallery, it takes me back to the Gallery but the address is

    http://www.richardshouse.net/gallery/albums.php

    rather than

    http://richardshouse.net/gallery/

    Logon problems

Noahdfear - you hit the problem right on the head and that is that the address to the gallery is corrupted. When transitioning from my home page (www.richardshouse.net) to the gallery the address is richardshouse.net/gallery.

If I enter the address http://www.richardshouse.net/gallery/albums.php. everything works fine.

So now I am going to have to remember how to edit my home page to correct that error.

Thank you very much and I'll keep you posted.

    Login problem

Noahdfeasr - still have the problem. I sent the following to Total Choice Hosting, my web hosting server -

OK, here is the problem. Using www.richardshouse.net takes me to my web
page, page 1. Then on that web page near the top there is a box where it
reads in part "Click here to check out my Gallery" Clicking that takes me
to http://richardshouse.net/gallery/ that does not have WWW in it but does
open the gallery but at that point using the sign on user name to log in
"xxxxxx" and password "xxxxxx" you cannot log in without first resetting
that password. However if I enter the URL
http://www.richardshouse.net/gallery/albums.php manually you will note that
WWW precedes the balance of the URL and when that URL
http://www.richardshouse.net/gallery/albums.php is used to open the gallery
main page, log in appears to work but in fact does not, and also does not
give the option of resetting the password. This you must do before first
    attempting to log on

TCH responded that they had no problem logging on at their site indicating a broswer problem.

A friend who helped me set up the Gallery tells me he runs two unlinked computers, one with Firefox and one with Internet Explorer and he has the same problem I do with I.E. but no problem with Firefox, seemingly confirming it is a browser problem.

I have run SFC /scannow on my machine as well as Adaware 2007, Spybot S&D, Windows Defender, Spyware Nuker, Zonbe Alarm spyware and a thorough AVG scan, all finding nothing.

Another forum called Web Page Fun which is where I got started in the web page business is presenting a similar yet very different problem in that I am set up to stay logged on indefinitely to the site, however on frequent occasions of late the site will log me off and not let me sign back on and when requesting password reminder will tell me my username does not exist.

I can leave the site, then come back to it and be signed on again as tho nothing had happened.

Anyone have any ideas as to where to look for a solution to this, if, in fact, it is a browser problem and affecting only I.E. users. I use IE 6.0.

I still have no clue as to why the www is omitted from the URL when transitioning from my web page to the Gallery.

    Appreciate any help.

    login problems

Well, I have some of the problems I've been posting about resolved.

The issue of www.richardshouxse.net losing the www when transfetting to my gallery turned out to be the result of a missing key stroke, that being a /
after www.richardshouse.net/gallery/ now is theproper code so that works. It was all working until a well meaning friend decied to correct some non existant problems and now I cant use the durn gallery at all but I got a guy with Menalto Gallery to fix it for me when his time permits.

    I appreciate deveryone's help.
