    Refresh your memory here:

My question: How do I get this to accept a password? As it is, all I have to do is click 'OK' without entering a password to get back into the computer.

What I am looking for is a simple way to lock the desktop if/when I have to leave the computer for a short period of time without having to turn it off. This will be perfect if I can assign a password to it. Any simple fix? Thanks.

Set up your computer so that a password is required to log on. Then when you press the Win key + L the logon screen appears requesting your password.

Hi Pete. Thanks. Refresh my memory will you? I can't remember the option to do this when installing/reinstalling. Probably because I never thought I'd need it so I subconsciencely passed it over without a thought.

Can this be done without having to reinstall or will I just have to bite the bit and go for it?

    Oh yes :)

Control Panel > User Accounts > Pick a task > Change an Account > Pick an Account to Change > Change my Password.
