Links don't work

When I'm surfing the Net, some links on particular pages will work fine, while others don't go anywhere. When I try to open a nonresponding link via right clicking, sometimes it works, but at other times, I get the message that the page cannot be displayed. Why can I access some links but not others?

 

what browser? what kind of connection to the inet? is there a router involved?

first thing i'd look at is create a new user and log on w/ that account. then test to see if the issue follows along.
