I have 2 CPU's running Windows XP Pro both cabled to a Netgear Router. Out of the blue after turning one of them off and powering back up, I seemed to have lost my Network connection (Internet). I run repair but it doesn't help. I corrected it once but it has happened again. This time, I forgot how I repaired it so I need help. Especially as to why it happened again.

    Hi Joe,

Have you tried turning your computer off, unplugging the router and modem for a minute, plugging them back in and after they reset, booting up?

yes, and this will give me a network connection but I don't always power up both cpu's at the same time. When I power the 2nd CPU up at a later time, I will have lost that connection and I am back to limited connectivity. This scenario just started. Prior, I could turn them on independently at any time and have a network connection.

One other note: Thinking I might have a problem with my LAN card, I uninstalled it and then restarted my computer and let it re-install but this didn't solve the problem. Which means, I believe that my LAN card is not finding my router address and may be bad.

Run this command from a command prompt cmd /c ipconfig /all>%temp%\$.$&notepad %temp%\$.$

Copy/paste the output in your next reply.
