Laptop screen goes garbled

    My screen garbles and everything is like half visible with a brick like rectangles of discolored distorted pieces of my screen image covering everything else... hard to explain

    This happens only when I come out of hibernation on battery power and occurs as soon as I plug in my AC Adapter.

    Any ideas?

    Windows hibernation has always been buggy, I have never seen it function correctly on a majority of computers, thus I never use it. Try disabling it and see if problem returns.
