I have a Sony Vaio BX540B running XP with all updates [not SP3] and all of the sudden it has started going into hibernation and I have to log in again to access where I was. Any ideas? I have changed no settings but did install a Delorme Street Atlas program.

I guess you have checked in the Power Settings (Control Panel > Power Options > Hibernate tab) that 'Enable Hibernation' is unchecked?

And on the Advanced tab that 'Prompt for password ....' is unchecked?

I would not expect the Delorme program to have any effect on Power Options.

Thanks for the reply, I had Enable Hibernation unchecked and also the Prompt for password was unchecked--maybe it was one of the recent updates.
