    dears,
We have a local network working in ms-dos, we define network drives of this lan system without any problems by
'map network drives' in win98. In win xp we can not define these drives, lan card is working properly.
how can we define these drives for win xp.please help us to solve this problem.
    Thank you,
    Arash Hh

The NT systems (NT4/2K/XP-Pro) handle share permissions completely differently than the older systems (DOS/9x/ME) did. Increased security. So, mapping to shares often has to be done differently.

Is your network set up as a workgroup or domain?
